The Rev. Peter Connolly grew up in Dorchester, a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, and came to UUCBG from Quincy, a suburb of Boston. For 16 years, he was a social worker with the homeless and the formerly homeless in the Boston area. The last year of this work was as a community minister in fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Peter found his first Unitarian Univeralist home in 1990 at First Church in Jamaica Plain Unitarian Universalist, Massachusetts, serving there in a variety of capacities, serving on numerous committees as well as the governing board. He also founded the Children’s Chapel worship service, which he led for five years.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature from Brandeis University and taught high school English for eight years in the Boston area. In 2005, he earned a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School, graduating with honors. In 2006, he was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister.  In the fall of 2009, the Rev. Peter Connolly was called to serve UUCBG as its first minister.
