Having Fun Together
Once a year we come together for fellowship, fun, and fundraising! We bid on services we offer to one another (including theme suppers) and on donated items of value. And we eat! It’s great fun, and the auction helps raise funds for the church.
Breaking Bread Together
Small potluck suppers are held each month in participants’ homes, though they may take a break in January and in the summer. This highly successful program enables groups of six to ten members and friends to connect personally with one another in a relaxed, social atmosphere of food and fellowship. Each month the groups rotate so that they have an opportunity to know different folks. All are welcome.
Potlucks are usually held following the Service on the last Sunday of the month. The Hospitality Committee coordinates this event, and participating folks bring a dish for eight or more to share. Help is always welcomed to set up, serve, and clean up. This is a great way for members and new people to get to know one another. Come! There is always plenty!
Light refreshments are available after the Worship Service every Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. This is an informal time for visitors and newcomers to talk with members about our programs and for members to learn more about what brings you to our church.
Spending Time With Friends
UU Youth Group
This group of young people between the ages of 12 and 18 meets from 12:15–1:00 p.m. every other week. The Group coordinates a popular annual “Coffee House” talent show, which is a fundraiser open to the community. The members sell fair trade products of coffee, tea, and chocolate. Plans for the future involve sending youth to regional and national conferences, participating in volunteer projects, and much more!
UU Campus and Young Adult Group
The goal of this new group is to have a thriving campus organization at Western Kentucky University with a partner young adult group at church.
